Downtime Warning: 2007-06-03

Last updated: Sun, 27 May 2007 04:44:00 GMT

A number of critical kernel and security patches are currently outstanding on zone host murzim, which we'll be applying between 0400 and 0600 BST, Sunday 3rd June.

These patches are necessary to bring murzim into line with current patch revisions on other zone hosts, and we're confident that there will be no difficulties. In the days prior to the third, we'll be applying a number of trivial and non-critical patches, resulting in higher than normal administrative loads. The final phase of patching is expected to take two hours, during which there will be a small number of reboots and one extended period of downtime lasting approximately 25 minutes.

Zone customers hosted on murzim will be notified shortly by email but we do recommend that customers monitor our RSS news feed to stay up to date. Zone customers are, as ever, advised to leave their zones in a rebootable state whenever possible — all desired services should be set to start at boot time.

Any questions? Just ask.
